08/09 Erie Icemen Coaches

Bantam Coach: Dan Parra.
Age: 25
Status: Married with 2 children
Personal Background: Born and raised in Erie, PA.  Graduated from Villa High School in 2001
Hockey History: Dan played house and travel in Mites through to Midgets with EYHA.  He was also a member of the Erie School District High School team, the Erie Storm. 
Coaching Credentials: certified as a level 3 with USA Hockey
Coaching Background: Assistant coach for the past seven years for several Mite, Pee Wee, House, Select, and Travel teams.  Dan is a level one referee and has been an off ice official for the Mercyhurst Lakers Division I Men's Hockey team for the past four seasons.  He comes to the Erie Icemen with eighteen years of hockey experience.

Peewee Coach: Steve Reichert
Age: 45
Status: Married with 2 children 
Personal Background: Born and raised in Erie, PA.  Graduated from Academy High School in 1981.   Attended West Virginia University, and graduated from Mercyhurst College.  Steve has been a firefighter on the Erie Fire Department for 22 years.  He currently serves as the Captain of Engine Company 11
Hockey History: Steve started playing hockey at age four and continued playing until age 18 in EYHA – Mite, Squirt, Peewee, Bantam League – Squirt, Peewee, Bantam High School Hockey – All City Team, representing Academy HS.  Steve was also a referee throughout his youth hockey seasons.
Coaching Credentials: Currently a Level 3 coach and is planning on attending the Level 4 clinic in the spring.
Coaching Background: Steve has served on the Skating Club of Erie Board of Directors and has been involved with the Erie Icemen Squirt and Peewee A teams.
